How many guitars does a guy need? I know I have three perfectly good guitars but I don't have one like this one! While in most of the world luthiers are a highly specialized class, in Africa lots of people make their own guitars and they get some great sounds out of them too. Here's my friend Edward Jipi and his home-made guitar.

While we were away from the village, one of the guards posted this sign outside our gate. It reads, "A person without a program may not enter." In English we might say something like, "No unauthorized persons allowed."
This week I'm asking him to take down the sign and put up another one that reads, "Welcome, friend!"

We didn't get caught on the mountain but we did have a rainy run through the fields to get back to our home.
